My Weakness
From the Musical:
7 Jars of Gold
Oh it's true,
that I probably do
have a slight certain weakness for beauty.
The only times,
when I'm ever untrue,
is when I see someone else more cutey.
I once loved a lovely, lovely lass;
she bore the name of Cressider;
what ever she wanted I brought to pass,
the jewels that I gave her impressed her.
I let her use all my credit cards,
and paid for ev'rything that she charged;
Though it was hard to keep her happy,
she called me sugar pappy,
and whatever it was she lacked
(spoken) "Wasn't my fault!"
But the full moon waned and the skies turned grey,
and I found out then with sudden chills;
that my partner in play had gone far away,
and left me to pay all the bills.
Now I sit,
all alone in my room,
longing for another whiff of my lover's purfume;
yearning hard,
for the return of my master card;
(spoken) "Wait a minute!"
To be sure one fish got away;
but there's more there in the sea so they say,
of course I'll always miss her!
Perhaps she has a sister,
who's looking for a mister,
and happy if I kissed her;
and I'd ask her with me to stay,
there with me for frolic and play;
with say a million rupies
I could gather my own groupies;
for an endless round of whoopies,
flying loop the loopies!
and strengthen my weakness ev'ry day!
